We ask patients to book an appointment to see their "Usual GP" as this helps with continuity of care and helps us practice “family medicine”.
We offer 10 minute appointments which can be made by telephoning reception on 01993 700505. Please make a double (20 minute)appointment if you feel this is needed.
Touch Screen – When you arrive for your appointment, we would encourage you to use the self-booking touch screen which you will find located to the right of the reception area. Please ask a receptionist if you would like help using this quick way of 'checking in' for your appointment.
Requests for medically urgent or 'same day' appointments
‘Choose Well’ is an education campaign which aims to help Oxfordshire residents understand where to go for urgent health advice. http://www.oxfordshireccg.nhs.uk/your-health/choose-well/
Urgent cases will always be offered help on the same day you contact the practice, however this may be via a telephone or face to face consultation as appropriate.
We are currently trying out a new way of responding to patients asking to be seen that afternoon:
If you contact the practice after 12:30pm asking for an urgent or same day appointment:
· The receptionist will ask for brief details of your request.
· The receptionist will record your contact numbers for the day.
· The Duty Triage Doctor will call you back that afternoon.
►You may then be offered an urgent or routine appointment, given telephone advice, or directed to other more appropriate services e.g. practice nurse, pharmacist, Minor Injuries Unit.
During the pilot stage of this ‘telephone triage’ system, our system in the morning will remain as currently. This means that we may ask you to attend the ‘sit and wait’ clinic or offer you a telephone consultation.
If you wish to speak to one of the doctors, please contact the receptionist to book a telephone consultation.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
